style models

I have pick Kellang as my style model for my Advert as the audience for Kellang are the same for the band.so with the two style models for Kellang I made my Advert. these are the style models

Ancillary task - Advert 1

To create my advert I first needed a style model and to find appropriate style models I needed to consider which magazine my advert would feature in. I decided on Kerrang and found a few examples of adverts which had featured in Kerrang. Using these examples and the same style used for the album I created an advert promoting the album's release and in particular the single for which we created a music video - 'Never'

Slim Acorn - Roles

New Advert Poster For Ancillary Task

I change my advert because I didn't like it. This one has the Slim Acorn logo and the Roadrunner records logo to tie it in. change the colour on the picture to black and white to make it fit in on the style. The red text is done because of the red text on the digi-pack.

Ancillary Task

This is the digi-pack for the Ancillary task Me and Jordan both work on the digi-pack but Jordan work the most on the digi-pack while I did the back of it and gave import on the rest

We have plan to do some photos for the digi pack and advert but we ran into some small problems the first was that one of the actors that was meant to show up couldn't as he had to baby site which left us with to actors which we could of work around but the facilities were being used by other people. We are at the moment we are tiring to working around times that people are free as well as the facilities to get the photos done

Never - Draft film

Having filmed all the footage for the music video we have created a draft version which does not yet feature the lyrics or recorded guitars, instead it features all the audio from the guitar pro file I created.

Roadrunner records

We have decided to go with roadrunner records as bands like Slipknot, Halestorm and Black Stone Cherry  which are slimmer to our band which means that the audience to the other bands will see our band under this record label and will be more will to listen to our band

Ancillary task - Digipak (style model/target audience)

The song for our music video is in the style of an artist that would feature on something like Kerrang, either in their magazines, or on the radio or TV. The reason for this is that the song is influenced heavily by Kerrang style bands. For this reason we have decided to make our digipak similar to those of bands who might feature on Kerrang such as Billy Talent, Rise Against, Slipknot etc. 

At this point we have created a draft of our front cover of the digipak, using Billy Talent's album "Billy Talent" as the style model.

Digipak - Style Models

I have started looking at style models for the digipak I am going to create for the first of my ancillary tasks. As with the early style models of our music video I have looked at Rise Against and Billy Talent as the inspiration for my design. Both digipaks seem to make use of silhouettes, this is a feature I may emulate in my own work. Also as with the Billy Talent digipak I may put the art work on the front and the photography on the back along with the song information.

After looking back on what we have done we belief that we can add some more footage to the video and footage we weren't able to do on over filming days so we plan one last filming day to get what we have missed and new ideas that we have thought of.

Technical issues

Technical issues

I have recently encountered problems regarding the software I have been using to create the music for our music video. I had completed the music ready to place in the video however the software crashed and corrupted the file meaning I will have to restart the music production. To prevent this problem from occurring again I will export mp3 files of the song after each time I work on it and save backup files to external hard drives.

Photo choices

For our music video we required two photos for the  first and final scenes, in the final scene the photo of our male actor on his own is burned. We took these photos at our local town hall after filming our beach scenes. We took a range of photos for this purpose and  after a discussion we decided to use these two photos.

Letter of approval

I've been writing a letter of approval to allow us to go and film in a cafe for are project and here it is

the directions we took

at the star of the film process we had plan around using the town hall as the meeting place for the characters but a cafe that we wanted to used was closed so we had to move the locations of some of the film the cafe was change to a different one while the meeting place was a beach by a fort in new brighton. the reason for this was we could change some puts of the filming and have it fit in with any problem.

Plan for filming prom and beach scenes

We are planning to film our next to scenes at our local prom and beach, we aim to do this on Thursday 9th January. Due to recent weather warnings we have checked the forecast for the day and time we wish to start filming. We have also looked at tides for that day to make sure there is a low tide at the time we want to start filming.
